Is being not Mainstream becoming Mainstream?

A definition of Indie you ask? Here.. "In high school, Indie kids were/are a bit awkward, because they find it hard to communicate with those who don't have the same ideals. This doesn't mean that they won't talk to you. Conversation is well liked among the Indie, but their ever churning minds are rarely understood. This is where humour comes in, and Indie kids tend to be very clever individuals who can come up with a funny little quip almost instantly. A lot tend to pursue stand up comedy. Also, an Indie kid will talk your ear off, sew it back on, then talk some more if music comes in to the conversation. "I personally am not Indie. However, i do very much like there style and Ora. I like to think of them as their own individual click, such as Americans like to say.. 'jocks' 'cheerleaders' 'poplars' 'nerds' you get my gist. Indies are all about not being Mainstream. Whats Mainstream exactly? Mainstream is something that everybody does, because people are doing it other people follow. Such as music for instance. Cher Lloyd, Cheryl Cole ,Olly Murs are all Mainstream. People like them because they're the 'norm'.Anyway, the main point of this blog was to ask.. Is Indie going Mainstream? Is not being Mainstream becoming the new Mainstream? Are people now coming onto the idea that being not Mainstream is cool? And does that then make the idea Mainstream? You Tell Me.
